I think that this year I want an enormous Herb Garden! The photo above shows my three Raised-Beds (an Earlier Post on Raised-Beds) that have produced wonderfully for three years now.
Let’s take a closer look at that first Raised-Bed:
This Raised-Bed is 3 feet by 4 feet for a total of 12 Square Feet of Gardening Goodness! How’s that for Enormous??
Now, What Herbs to Plant?
My Short-List of absolutely required Herbs:
- Basil (Sweet, Italian, Liquorice, Lemon)
These are some of the most common Herbs found in most kitchens in the U.S. Some are warm weather crops and some are year round. The order in which I plant will follow my weather here in Northeast Pennsylvania, Zones 6-7.
Here is the above List in Planting Chronological Order from First to Last:
- Garlic (Mid-Fall; Or Late-Winter; October or February )
- Basil, Dill, Oregano, Parsley, Rosemary (After Last Spring Frost; June 1st)
- Sage, Rosemary (Early Summer; June to July)
So that’s the Plan for the Herb Garden Folks! Don’t Worry, I plan to give you specifics on each Herb I’ve outlined above so you can try them too.
Get ready to Garden this year! It does a body good!
As always, Please feel free to email or comment on this Post with feedback, suggestions, or thoughts. I always like to hear them.
Until next Time…Stay Curious!
